Gentle delivery of cleaning agents
Pumping cleaning agents presents pumps with enormous challenges. In addition to abrasive or corrosive properties, it is not uncommon for foaming behavior to occur. The rotation in the pump can cause the medium to foam up. This often leads to considerable problems and costs during filling at the end of the process chain. Pumps sometimes have to run extremely slowly to prevent the cleaning agent from changing its state and foaming up during pumping. If the cleaning agent has already foamed up during filling, it can lead to overflowing or foaming out of the container. The pumps for cleaning agents belong to the family of screw pumps and are assigned to the CHEMSPIN series.
Best Practice:
We replaced the existing pump technology for a customer. By spinning the medium in the pump, it was foamed to such an extent that effective filling was no longer possible. Due to the foaming out of the container, the label could no longer be applied to the bottle in the further course of the process. The bottles had to be subjected to additional, unscheduled cleaning. Thanks to the more gentle conveying with screw pumps, the throughput was increased by around 80 % and the process was made significantly more efficient.
