Twin screw pumps are also positive displacement pumps. However, their operating principle differs from other pump types in that the medium is displaced axially and radially.
Rotary lobe pump
The rotary piston pump works similarly to a gear pump. Two rotating pistons comb the medium out of the spaces between the pistons.
Circumferential piston pump
Circumferantial piston pumps also belong to the positive displacement pump category. They pump the medium using two rotating pistons that displace the medium from a cavity free of dead spaces.
PC Pump
In this short video, we explain how PC pumps work. This type of pump is also a positive displacement pump. The medium is pumped by a rotating shaft.
Comparison: CIP cleaning
In this short video, we illustrate exactly what CIP cleaning is and how it works in detail for twin screw pumps.
