CHEMSPIN ATEX twin screw pumps -

Flexible, universal, and safe for potentially explosive areas

CHEMSPIN twin screw pumps can also be used in ATEX zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. Depending on the pumping temperature, temperature classes T2 to T4 can be achieved. The contactless delivery principle is advantageous here. The CHEMSPIN ES with extended feed screws can also be supplied as an ATEX version.

The ATEX concept consists of the following measures:

  • Use of pressure-resistant encapsulated motors for speed control
  • Monitoring of surface temperatures by sensors on the pump housing and bearing bracket
  • Ensuring seal temperatures through a monitored flushing system for double-acting mechanical seals
  • Prevention of dry running through monitoring of single-acting mechanical seals
  • Breakthrough couplings or spark suppression by couplings in oil bath
  • Non-sparking contact protection for base plate units
  • Grounding connections for potential equalization

Units that are safe-to-run dry or dry run safe can be supplied with the appropriate shaft seals.

Technical parameters

The CHEMSPIN ATEX is available in sizes 50, 70, 90, 105, and 125 and has been developed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The maximum pumping volume is approx. 300 m³/h. The delivery pressure is up to 35 bar.

The advantages at a glance

Durability

The CHEMSPIN is manufactured from 1.4404 stainless steel as standard. Hardened conveyor elements and contact-free operation result in high wear resistance.

Gas carrying

Self-priming, gas-pumping. Excellent suitability for unloading and transfer operations.

Space requirements

The opposite connection positions make it easier to integrate the pumps into existing systems.

Flexibility

A wide variety of products and a broad range of quantities and viscosities can be covered with just one pump. Reverse operation is possible, greatly reducing the variety of pumps required within a system.

Cavitation

The NSPH values of the CHEMSPIN are very low. This applies to the entire operating range, including operating points close to zero flow. Increasing speeds and viscosities have only a minor influence.

Safe operation

Loaded, abrasive, or lumpy media can be pumped; with a suitable shaft seal, the system is safe-to-run dry or can operate in a dry run mode. Very low vibration and noise levels.

Other variants

CHEMSPIN STANDARD

The CHEMSPIN is the basic model of the globally proven CHEMSPIN pump series made of high-quality stainless steel.

CHEMSPIN ES

Compact twin screw pump for chemical and industrial applications

CHEMSPIN ATEX

CHEMSPIN twin screw pumps can be used in ATEX zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. Depending on the delivery temperature, temperature classes T2 to T4 can be realized.

CHEMSPIN INLINE

The drop-in replacement solution for replacing other pump technologies. Choice of connections for easy changeover to twin screw pumps.

Applications

Adhesives

Adhesives mixed with solvents pose a high risk of cavitation in the conveying process. The challenge is that the slightly boiling solvents generally behave differently to the other components.

Underbody protection

Underbody protection is used to preserve vehicles and machines and constantly presents pump manufacturers with new challenges. However, gentle pumping of formulations with sensitive components such as glass beads is not a problem.

Tanks storage /farms

Filling, emptying or circulation pumping are recurring tasks for tank farm operators. Thanks to their high flexibility, screw pumps can handle a wide range of pumping tasks with just one series.

Paints and varnishes

Pulsation-free conveying and filling of colors can be a real challenge. Pigmented colors are usually extremely sensitive and must be conveyed particularly gently so that pigments are not destroyed.

Cleaning agent

Corrosive or abrasive liquids present pumps with major challenges. Especially when pumping cleaning agents, for example, solids can also be conveyed.

Personal advice

Fast and precise communication is our specialty. It is important to us to work together with our customers to find the perfect pump solution for their process. Because only a pump that is precisely matched to the process can be operated reliably and efficiently.
